Hello, We recently had a password change on the authorized LDAP user for our LDAP authentication from HP ALM. Since then no one can log into the system. We receive an error about "Unable to authorize to the LDAP system, please contact the administrator for further assistance."
We know it is the password change that is causing this, but how can we correct this issue?
Thanks in advance, HomerJ

Hi HomerJ, Your issue is that the LDAP isn't allowing the authorization because of the password change as you have discovered. To correct this issue you will need to change the Authentication method from its current state of 'LDAP' back to the default setting of 'QUALITYCENTER' within the DB for the ALM installation within the qcsiteadmin_db schema for the installation (Please see the following eye on testing post for the correct procedure to change this setting: http://eyeontesting.com/questions/868/unable-to-login-site-admin-after-enabling-ldap-aut.html ).
Once that setting is changed then you will need to restart the HP ALM services on the ALM application server in order for the change to take place.
After the services restart, then you can log into the Site Admin client system using the admin account and password that was established during the installation of the ALM server and edit the LDAP setting information and change the authentication method back to 'LDAP'. These can all be accomplished through the Site Users Tab within Site Admin and the settings icon (a crossed hammer and screwdriver icon within that tab).
Hope this helps, Dan
