Question by jquigley · Mar 21 at 06:18 PM · sharepoint

Can someone PLEASE tell me why SharePoint isn't supported by UFT

We automate SharePoint 2013 with UFT and I keep hearing it's not supported. We have been able to automate, but lately we are noticing issues with sync.

Just wondering if anyone can give me a good answer on WHY it's not supported. Or, is this just rumor?

Sharepoint just needs the web addin for UFT. There's no separate addin for Sharepoint. Maybe this is some of the confusion?

Thanks! We use descriptive programming, not record and playback and had some issues with sync. I think it's basically an issue with asynchronous websites and the following url is helpful. We will most likely use waitproperty with sync going forward. We just used sync with exist in the past and that worked inconsistently.

It was also recommended to us to also try installing the Web 2.0 addins, since we use AJAX and JQuery. Saw some weird behavior after doing that and wasn't sure if it was related to the install. Need to troubleshoot further.

Additionally, I've attached a document that support gave to us. We don't do record and playback, but it might be helpful to someone else.link text
