BlueZone TE with UFT 12

I am trying to use BlueZone 6.x terminal emulator with UFT 12.00. I installed the emulator and am able to launch it and connect using BlueZone VT. When I try to run the terminal emulator in UFT 12.00, I select BlueZone and version 6. When I click the Validate button, it gives me an error "Cannot locate the main window class".

I checked and my Short Session is set to ‘A’ as required.

Why can I not get it to work with UFT.

I ran into this problem a while back with a user. I was able to set up BlueZone 6.x just fine with UFT 12.00, while he was not. It turned out that I was using the BlueZone Mainframe application in the bundle, and it was able to work fine with the UFT wizard and recognized the TE objects correctly.

The user was trying to work with BlueZone VT and the reason it was failing was that BlueZone VT does not offer the TN3270 or TN5250 protocol support, which is required for UFT to fully understand the TE using the Whllapi32.dll.

If you check your settings in BlueZone VT, you will see that 3270 and 5250 are not listed....only VT100, etc. are available.

HP lists in the TE Addin guide that you can only configure UFT to use the Text-Only mode when working with any other protocol other than TN3270 or TN5250.

Ok. I checked and that's what is happening. I see that my BlueZone VT app was using VT420. If I change the version in the drop down I can see that I keep getting that error.

I switched and started BlueZone mainframe, and the te wizard says it is ok when I configure it with UFT.

The Mainframe works weird with our mainframe so I can't use the BlueZone Mainframe app.

You will have to use the 'non-HLLAPI' option with UFT. It is also sometimes referred to as text only mode. It will work, but you won't see the TEFields as separate objects for instance, which you would if you were using a full TN3270 or TN5250 emulator.
