Excel Export to QC stuck on Map step
Question ID: 104436

We recently upgraded my Operating system to Windows 7. Prior to this upgrade, I have had no problem using the "Excel Add In" to export Requirements into Quality Center. I am now having trouble getting past the "Map Name" interface. When I choose the "Type a new Map Name" or "Create a Tempory Map" and hit "Next" nothing happens.
Any Ideas?

Here is the fix provided by HP....

------------------------------------------------
HP Knowledge document information
------------------------------------------------
Title: QC Export Wizard cannot continue at Step 5 of 8
Document ID: KM769798
Product: Quality Center
Version: 9.2 /10/11

------------
Summary:
------------
In the process of exporting data from an Excel file to QC using Excel Add-in, the Export Wizard cannot go forward when choosing any options at Quality Center Export Wizard - Step 5 of 8 and clicking Next.

The issue is due to the QC user not having write permission on the folder :/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/XLStart.

-----------
Problem

-----------

In the process of exporting data from an Excel file to Quality Center (QC) using the Excel Add-in, the Export Wizard cannot proceed when choosing any of the following options at 'Quality Center Export Wizard - Step 5 of 8' and clicking Next:

1. Type a new map name.

2. Create a temporary map.

-----------
Cause
-----------

The Windows user does not have the write permission on the folder :/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/XLStart.

The write permission on the folder is required as the creation of a map will write data into the folder.

Fix
-----------

Grant write permissions for the Windows user on the folder:

C:/Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office/XLStart
