IE 11 crashes/not responding while invoking through HP LoadRunner 11.52 VuGen

Hi ,
I am trying to record a web based application using IE 11 via HP LoadRunner 11.52.0.0. After hitting the Start recording button, IE launches with the specified URL and loads for few seconds. Then It opens up another pop-up with the title – "x64 assertion" failed and the message as "Shrinked version of pointer resulted in zero". Attached the screenshot for reference. After clicking OK button in the pop-up, IE crashes/goes to Not Responding mode.

The same application URL is launching fine when it opens without LoadRunner.

Can anyone please tell me the reason for this issue and the solution for the same ?

Check the following

1. IE is running as a Admin
2. VuGen is an running as an Admin
3. DEP is set AlwaysOff
4. UAC is set to Never
5. add exception to your antivirus for VuGen.exe
6. install LR12.53 patch 4 (with an admin account) and reboot
7. can record any web site?
8. ensure that java JRE AND JDK 1.7_x are installed ( note 12.53 Oracle NAC protocol does not support java 1.8 )
9. Upgrade to LR 12.55 and apply LR 12.56 patch

**No**, **LoadRunner 11.5x** is **NOT** supported or compatible with Windows 10.

**only LoadRunner 12.53 and higher**

I use HP Vugen 12.53 but still face the hanging issue of IE when invoked from HP LR using a Multiple Protocol(Web HTTP + ORACLE NCA protocol) script.

Hi Friends,

Does Load Runner Version 11.50 is compatible with Windows 10?

UPDATE:

you can also fix by doing this:

1. Logon to the machine as Administrator
2. Open Regedit
3. Navigate to ''**HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem**
4. Change the ''**EnableLUA**'' to data value **0x00000000 (0)** by right clicking and selecting ''**modify...**''
5. **Reboot** the machine.

After the reboot the VuGen will open TruClient -web (IE browser) with no issues, for all Users (admins and non admins) without having to right click and Run as Admin.

Please consider the above and then update your case as appropriate along with any additional related questions, comments, and concerns.

The reason is IE 11 is **NOT Supported** by LoadRunner 11.52.

If you want to script with **IE11** you will need to Upgrade your LoadRunner to version **12.02 or Higher**.

OR Downgrade your IE to **IE 7, 8, 9 and 10, which are supported by LoadRunner 11.52 with patch 4** applied.

I recommend upgrading to **LoadRunner 12.53 and applying patch 2**.
