Ok I ask the question for QTP 10 but no one has posted the question for QTP 11.

I need to repair my QTP 11 and when I go to the control panel it asking for the install media (software). Is there some other way to repair QTP with out the media?

Monika, This should be a new question to Eye on testing. I do not think Power Builder 11 is supported with QTP 9.2 and recommend upgrading to newer version of QTP.

Here is quote from HP site on versions. QuickTest Professional 11: Out of box: All supported versions from QTP 10 Via Patch: QTPPB_00012: Power Builder applications version 12 QTPPB_00034: Power Builder applications version 12.5 QuickTest Professional 10: Out of box: PowerBuilder applications version 9, 10, 10.5 and 11. Via Patch: QTP_00626: PowerBuilder applications version 11.5 QuickTest Professional 9.5: Out of box: PowerBuilder applications versions 9.5, 10, 10.5 and 11.

QuickTest Professional 9.2 and older versions: Only support as Windows applications, meaning no special support for PowerBuilder. Uses could/may map custom objects to standard objects, use virtual objects, or an object's native methods, but QuickTest Professional should still be able to record and replay on a PowerBuilder application.

The following will repair QTP 11 without the install media.

NOTE: This may reset patch registry setting and the patches may have to be re installed.

**Window 7**

1. Press the 'Start' button
2. find command prompt in the start menu and right click on it
3. select ''Run as Administrator''.
4. Type ''CMD'' in the open window.
5. A Dos Prompt will appear.
6. copy the following to the dos prompt and run

   MsiExec.exe /fm {3ECD871E-06F1-4AE6-8D62-3D6D3E016C8B}

7. A window will appear and the repair will start.
8. When the window disappears the repair is complete
9. Then run Start > HP QTP > Tools > Additional Install Requirements.

**Windows XP**

1. Ensure you have local Adminstrator rights
2. Press Windows Key and ''R''
3. Type ''CMD'' in the open window.
4. A Dos Prompt will appear.
5. copy the following to the dos prompt and run

    MsiExec.exe /fm {3ECD871E-06F1-4AE6-8D62-3D6D3E016C8B}
