Why is there a ‘SiteScope’ monitor type along with specialized monitors that use SiteScope, such as "Windows Resources (SiteScope)"?

Hi Steve!!

Sitescope (v10.10) with Performance Center (v9.52).

Do you know if it is possible to use the ''credentials'' defined within Sitescope instead of using the userid/password when creating monitors within Performance Center? I am trying to find a way to ''hide'' the password used by Sitescope to authenticate to the servers under test from the end-users. (I could use a pre-defined Sitescope monitor, but would quickly run out of points.)

Lewis.

When using SiteScope to monitor systems under test for Performance Center, there are two different ways to define the monitor: permanently in SiteScope or dynamically in Performance Center.

A permanent monitor is added through the SiteScope web site. Create a group and add the monitor. These types of monitors will be available through the ''SiteScope'' monitor list and will always be active ''points'' in SiteScope.

The other monitors are created dynamically when a test begins. They are removed from SiteScope when the test ends. These monitors will only be SiteScope ''points'' while the test is active. This allows multiple projects to share a limited number of points: points will only be used by active tests and will be ''recycled'' when the test ends.
