Test Progress Graph – includes nonbusiness days in result

When I generate a Progress Test Set Graph Dates in the result are showing weekend dates (non business dates) with actual results for fail/pass/no run, etc. even though nobody was running tests on these days.
Numbers under Pass are showing the wrong number.

Steps:

1. Go to Test Lab
2. select a test set
3. Click on Analysis > Graphs > Progress – Cross Test Set
4. Result shows 7 days, including Saturday and Sunday.
5. Passed count is much higher than expected.

The graph that you are running is based on test instances. Test instances are the tests that are added to the test sets. The test instances do not contain information on what test set folder they are located in. The test sets contain the information on what folder the test instance is in.

The reason that you are getting the context filter error is because there are no test instances under a test folder they are located in the test sets and that is why when you select the test set the graph generates correctly.

The test sets and test folders themselves to do not store a status so you cannot create a progress graph based on those.

As far as the content filter error, the content filter is set within the graph which is stored under the Analysis View on the Analysis Menu tab. To get rid of that error you could go into the graph, set the filter state to custom, click the add filter icon, select the Cross Filter tab, and define the test set folder that you want to pull in information from. The problem with this is that this will no longer be a dynamic graph and will only report on that directory unless the filter is changed.

I do not see any way that you could generate the progress graph based off of the folder selected.

Try the following to see if it makes a difference.

Open and log into ALM

Edit the Progress - Cross Test Set

1. Click on Analysis View
2. Click on the Analysis Menus tab at the top of the page
3. Click on Test Set Analysis
4. Click on Progress - Cross Test Set
5. In the main window click on the Configuration tab
6. Change the filter state to Current Entity Based <-- if context was selected that was the problem. http://screencast.com/t/i8W4oN19F2li Click on the refresh button (two swirling green arrows) then select Test Lab 1. Select the Test Set that you would like to report on 2. Click on Analysis 3. Select Graphs 4. Click on Progress - Cross Test Set http://screencast.com/t/rijArNQ6yVmG This should give you the graph of only the tests in the test set that you highlighted Remember this is a progress graph it is not a graph showing the number of tests run in a day. If you look the screen caps above, you will notice that all 5 tests were passed up until today. Whatever the status is on Friday unless it is changed will be the status that is shown on Saturday and Sunday.

It worked when a 'Test Set' was selected. Thank you. But when I select a folder with 'Test Sets' I get an error. Something about filters not being set and needing to contact my administrator. How can my Sys Admin fix this?
