Sammy - are you aware of any work-around for using Sprinter with Windows 10? Thanks!

Windows 10 is not officially supported by any version of Sprinter. That said I have seen customers run Sprinter 12.52 and 12.53 on Win10. Not heard of any glaring issues yet. You must have an ALM version that supports ALM Client on Windows 10 to be able to attempt any Sprinter connection on Windows 10.

Hi Sammy - the issue is that Windows 10 which my country has upgraded to doesn't jive with Sprinter yet. I hope that HP can progress on that. Thanks for the help!

I'll get some help, Sammy, to determine whether or not the 9000-series ports are available in my company's environment. I tried changing the config to point to Port 8089, but that didn't work (received a different error), and Sprinter didn't start-up. Once again, thanks for the help thus far.

Can you view this article from HP? https://softwaresupport.hpe.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/KM00482049 It illustrates the steps for changing the port for each of the Sprinter config files. If you cannot edit the Sprinter.exe.config, SprinterAgent.exe.config, and SprinterRTE.exe.config files due to permissions, request an admin user on your machine do the change for you.

Sammy - if I attempt to change the port in the SprinterAgent config file [ProgramFiles (86x) directory] I'm not allowed to. May I create a copy of this agent file and store it elsewhere, pointing Sprinter to it (somehow)? Thanks in advance for the help and guidance!

So, when using HP ALM ver. 12.01 along with the same version of Sprinter (12.01), I receive an error message when booting-up my machine that states that Sprinter requires port 8085 and that my machine is currently using that port for another process. It's requesting that I close that process. I'm not going to close that process. How might I access another port for Sprinter to work on my machine?

In fact, I think that a McAfee Management Services task is utilizing that port. My IFS dept. has configured my machine that way. There's gotta be another port that Sprinter can use. I hope someone can advise. Thanks!

Sprinter uses ports:

Default Ports

8080 (11.5x)

8085 (12.x and higher).

Range from 9000 to 9009. If any of these ports are unavailable in your organization, some Sprinter functionality will not work. For example, when trying to connect to a mirror machine, the error message ''Could not find the machine on the network'' will be displayed if these ports are blocked.

About ports enable HP ALM to communicate with Sprinter. It also uses ports when in Power Mode to work with your primary machine and to communicate with your secondary machines when using mirroring feature.
