HP-sync Email Notification setup fails – can’t send test email

I have setup the email notifications for failed synchronizations but I have not be successful. Can you assist?

ERROR #1- server.MailService.CHECK_SEND_MAIL_FAILED : Failed to send test e-mail. Reason: server.MailService.FAILED_TO_INIT_MAIL_SERVICE : Failed to initialize mail service. Reason: Messaging exception during transport connect: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.services.mycompany.com, port: 25

ERROR #2- server.MailService.FAILED_TO_INIT_MAIL_SERVICE : Failed to initialize mail service. Reason: Messaging exception during transport connect: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.services.mycompany.com, port: 25
ERROR #3- Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.services.toyota.com, port: 25
ERROR #4- Permission denied: connect

It looks like the HP sync server and/or service user cannot connect to http://smtp.services.mycompany.com/ port 25. It gets access denied.

Confirm that your Mail server is in fact using Port 25 and that your specified user/pass is allowed to use it.

Beyond that, check if some ANTI-VIRUS tool (like Norton or McAfee) is blocking port 25 to prevent malware from sending spam. If so, you will need to will submit internal network/security request to open port 25.
