Is there a way to specify a connection to local devices (rather than Mobile Center) for mobile testing using UFT’s AOM? I need to be able to specify the connection details in my test.

Yes, this is a new feature to UFT 14.53, so make sure you are on at least that version. This gives you the LocalPort and Type properties for the MCConnection object, letting you set the local device configuration options previously only available in the Local Device Connection Settings within MObile Options under UFT Tools/Options/GUI Testing/Mobile.
