Staring this morning all the HP-Sync links are failing with the error below:

[09-12-2016 10:38:22] ERROR #1- server.ExecutionTaskRemote.RMI_CALL_FAILED : Failed to create RMI call getProgress. Error: Connection refused to host: 172.25.137.87; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

We have not done any QC or HP-Sync updates, it just stopped working

Try this:

Try to MANUALLY login to QC Client ON THE HP-Sync Server using your link userID and password.
The re-Register the ALM Client (from ...qcbin ''Tools'' menu).
Also, load the QC-connectivity Add-in from tools.

Make absolutely sure you are using the same QC URL, UserID and Password on your link(s) on the QC side in HP-Sync.

Try your QC-side connectivity and if successful, try link again.

If this does not help, then:

1) Cycle the HP-Sync service (or reboot server)

If this does not help,

2) Cycle HP-ALM/QC service on QC Server.
