ALM not running UFT as admin, some objects not recognized.

We are having a problem where our UFT scripts are being prevented from running certain activities (e.g., running a Windows Shell script that deletes Internet Explorer cookies) when executed from ALM, but the problem does NOT occur when UFT is directly or manually started as an admin and the scripts are not run through ALM. This seems to suggest that ALM is not starting UFT with admin permissions. Is there a way to set up Test sets in ALM that will cause ALM to execute UFT scripts with UFT running with admin permissions?

What is happening is that your application under test requires admin permissions to complete certain activities, this means that each tool in the testing process will also need to be at admin level in order to interact with those objects. So each application in the testing process that is kicked off will need to be run as admin.

Usually the best way is to right click IE and select Run As Administrator when you launch Quality Center, this usually causes the applications ie UFT that are opened by ALM to also run elevated. The only problem that I have encountered with this is that UAC will need to be set to 0 to run it this way. To change UAC try the following below:
