the uninstaller corrupted the .exe file extension association. The registry must be corrected to address this behavior.

1. Create a new text file and save it on your desktop.
2. Open the file.
3. Paste the following:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerFileExts.exe]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerFileExts.exe]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerFileExts.exeOpenWithList]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerFileExts.exeOpenWithProgids]
''exefile''=hex(0):

4. Click ''Save As'' and modify the type ''Text documents *.txt'' to ''All Files (*)''. Save on the desktop, as fix_exe.reg.
5. Double-click the fix_exe.reg file.
