Can’t install ALM11 to non-default folder in Linux

We are trying to install ALM11 on a Linux Server and cannot use the suggested default folder due to security policies we have. When installing, it fails and in the logs we see that it is attempting a disk space check on the default folder and fails due to our security/limitations in place.

How do we get it to install? It MUST be possible.

GoBroncos,

DO NOT attempt to edit he installer.sh script -- it even has a stern warning in it:
## This script was auto generated by iHP. DO NOT CHANGE THIS SCRIPT MANUALLY, ANY CHANGE TO THIS SCRIPT MAY RESULT IN UNEXPECTED RESULT. ##

There is a SOLUTION, though:
You will need to create a symbolic link between your preferred folder and the default one.

From the install screen text I saw during installation:

*''If you want to install HP Application Lifecycle Management Platform in an alternative directory, you must create a symbolic link from ''**/opt/HP/HP_ALM_Platform**'' to the **alternative directory** before continuing with this installation.''*

I also saw in the readme that when using the symbolic link, it cannot check disk space there, so be sure you have enough available in your new path (via rights).
