Defect Link Icon in Execution Grid

We are seeing an issue when linking a defect to a failed step while its being run in the Test Lab. We can create the defect link just fine and it shows in the Test Plan. However, when looking at the test in the execution grid, the link icon does not display. What are we doing wrong?

The icon in the execution grid shows links between the test instance and the defect. Since you are linking to the step during the run this is creating an ''indirect link''. The icon is not designed to show the indirect links. HP has an Enhancement Request to adjust this behavior in a future release to show the indirect links. However, there is not any time frame or guarantee as to when they will make this change. Marked as spam
