Enable New Excel report in Analysis View

I have a request from a user to enable New Excel reports on the QC installations… I would like to understand more about this parameter before adding it the system with a "Y". The parameter is – ENABLE_CREATE_LEGACY_EXCEL_REPORT with value is Y
Not sure what this does and would like more information than to just go by the user wanting to have us add it. The user thinks that Without this feature, we can continue using the Excel Reports that have already been created, but we’re unable to create new ones. Is this true? What does that parameter mean? Is there any repercussions if we add it? Any information you may have that would be helpful in determining this would be great.

GoDawgs,

The parameter is necessary because HPE(now MicroFocus) introduced the Business Views Excel Add-in and encouraged users to use the standard reports included with that Add-in. However, if you are comfortable using the original Excel Add-in and creating your own Excel Reports, I would recommend doing that. So, the parameter needs to be set to TRUE as it is defaulted to FALSE.
