I am having an issue saving a customization change to a User Define field. When attempting to modify the length from within the Customization->Project Entities, I get this error: *Failed to commit customization changes*

With the error, I am unable to save the change to Customization. I am seeing this activity on more than one project.

According to HP, there is a workaround for this issue. Seems the cause is related to the UDF having text search enabled for it. Having that box check for the UDF saves the value to the database and thus will not allow the entry to be rewritten.

To fix, log into ALM as an admin user and click on Tools tab, then Customize->Project entities-> and select the User defined field to be edited.

Please follow these steps to modify the length:

1. Uncheck the ''Searchable'' check box
2. Reduce the size then save the
changes
3. Check the check box back
4. Save and return to main menu

That worked! With Searchable unchecked I could modify the length of the UDF without the error. Thank you.
