Hello,
We are getting the following error in ALM 11 when we are trying to update defects and requirements in lots of our projects. The error is the same for all users no matter what they are trying to do. We are receiving a "Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040600" error. Eny help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hello HomerJ,
I am not familiar with this error, but since it is being received by all users within all modules during update functionality, I would look at the project. See if it is happening for other projects as well. If it is in more than one project, then I would check that the DB user (namely the td user) has the correct permissions and that the project has sufficient spacing allowed to update the entities within the DB.

The recommended by HP to resolve some of these issues is to have the DB for the projects to allow unlimited growth. Lots of DBAs don't like to allow this (and with good reason) but I would check that the spacing is sufficient to allow for the growth. You can set it temporarily to unlimited and see of the issue is resolved by they, then you would know it is a spacing limitation issue.

Hope this helps,
Dan

We adjusted the spacing and the issue was resolved. We are going to run it like this for a while and track growth rates and then decide if we would like to have this remain like this or periodically revisit the projects and then purge older information or grow within the projected growth rate. Thanks for you help with this issue.
