How to connect to a Remote Linux server?

Using QTP or VB script, how can I connect to a remote Linux server and then access files on that server? I need to verify certain things on the files on Linux servers.

I have connected to Linux machine via a tool called Putty in the past. Starting in QTP 11 you can use the QTP Add-on ''Terminal Emulator'' to access the Linux machine. Recommend using Putty method since it is supported. QTP 10 terminal emulator did not support putty. Here is a link to 'how to connect to Linux with QTP 10' which I used in the past.
