HP no longer supports the Web Services Add-in in UFT. If you need to test web services using UFT, HP recommends that you use the UFT API Testing features instead.

The reason for this change is because HP has determined teh UFT API is much better for testing web services and REST APIs.

If you do need the Web Services Add-in for your older QTP scripts, you can try this workaround, BUT it is for backwards compatibility ONLY:

**To re-enable the Web Services Add-in for your older QTP tests' backward compatibility**

Registry setting to enable the Web Services Add-in in UFT

To enable the Web Services Add-in in UFT 11.5, make the following changes:

-Verify that all instances of UFT 11.5 are closed

-Go to your Start > Run and enter regedit

-MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR REGISTRY (Registry Editor > File > Export > Export range: All)

-In the Registry Editor navigate to:

--For 32bit OS:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMercury InteractiveQuickTest ProfessionalAdd-in ManagerWebServices

--For 64bit OS

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeMercury InteractiveQuickTest ProfessionalAdd-in ManagerWebServices

-Find the entry ''Not Available'' and change the value from 1 to 0

-Start up UFT and you should now see the Web Services Add-in as an option in the Add-in Manager dialog
