How to Remove a LoadRunner license key without reinstalling.

We had 2 license keys for web users running on a loadrunner server. we moved one of the keys to a new loadrunner controller so we can have two tests running at the same time. I now need to remove the second license key from the first server. All responses that I have seen relate to reinstalling the product. In some cases, it shows saving the License folder under the HK_Local… entries in the registry. In others, it just says do a full reinstall. When I go into the Loadrunner configuration, the two separate keys are distinct. Does anyone know a way to just remove the second key without reinstalling? Can it be that hard? Thanks in advance.

First: License keys are lock to the loadrunner controller machine by the ''Host-ID'' of that machine. so to move the license to a new machine you will need to contact support and request a new key. give then a reason of the move and the Host ID of the ''new'' controller machine. Second: To remove a licnse key There is no direct solution. There are no easy, ''safe'', recommended or supported options. Now, it could be the case that you might be able to ferret around in the registry and remove the license that way but this is pretty unwise AT your OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMercury InteractiveLoadrunnerLicense2 1. Log into the machine with LoadRunner as a user with local admin rights. This key contains the temporary keys and permanent keys, as well as a history of all the license keys that have been used. Third: The license mechanism has changed in LoadRunner 11.50. So a licenses generated for LoadRunner 7 to 11.0x will not work with LoadRunner 11.50. Please get your host ID and open a request with the hp's License team to generate a new license key for LoadRunner 11.50. Marked as spam
