How to use UFT Mobile Add-in with a local device

So, when I installed UFT One 15.0.1, I included the Mobile add-in. It gives an option to connect a local mobile device, but I can’t seem to get it to work. I have my iPhone 8 with iOS 13.5 plugged in, but UFT does not see it. In Tools>Options>GUI Testing>Mobile, it’s asking for the address of the Mobile Add-in Local Device Connector, but every time I click on Test Connection, it fails.

How do I get this to work?

There are a lot of steps to get the Local Mobile feature working.

First you have to install the UFT Mobile Add-in for Local device*. You can get it here.
Once it is installed and running (make sure the service is started), you should get a successful connection. Here's more information about it.

*You do not need any additional license for this add-in.

iOS
Next, you have to prepare your iOS device the same way you would if using UFT Mobile. Make sure your device is supported.

iOS devices are a little more complicated than Android because you have to have an Apple Developer account so you can sign the Agent Apps. This must be done for iOS devices to work. You also need to change some settings on the phone. See info here.

Once all the steps mentioned above are completed, your device should now show up in Record>Record and Run Settings>Mobile. Select "Use local device". If your device is set up correctly, Applicable Devices should show 1/1 and the UFT Mobile iOS agent will be installed along with UFTMRunner and any other app that is set up to be installed on the mobile device.

AndroidIf you are using an Android device, review this link to see the settings on the device that need to be changed. The link also has instructions to connect the device to the machine and troubleshooting information.

See this link to see how to work with Android Emulators.

Thanks for all this info. I downloaded the add-in and followed the instructions and now UFT recognizes my device.
