We have just installed HP Synchronizer 12.50 sync pack 2 for ALM 11.0 and later. This is being used to sync up with TFS 2015. Install was fine, and did all the configure steps for on-premise install. When we attempt to create and test out a link via the sync client, we are getting the following errors:

ERROR #1- adapter.CONNECTION_FAILURE : Failed to connect to endpoint of type TFS. Error: com.mercury.qc.gossip.exp.GossipServerException: server.RemoteExecService.UNHANDLED_EXCEPTION : Unknown exception type is caught: com.hp.qc.synchronizer.adapters.exceptions.FatalAdapterException: connect: disconnected Could not load file or assembly ‘Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a’ or one of its dependencies. Client is registered, eveything was done "by the book" so unsure then what we are missing.

Hello,

This appears to be a know issue with HPE. KM02568091 references this issue. According to the KM, it would seem that the install guide mentions a step to copy files from TFS2015 to a directory for HP Synchronizer. Evidently this step is inaccurate as the necessary files are not present in the listed path.

KM article link for those with access: [HPE KM][1]

The guide states that you are to move files from TFS to sync server, but it seems the path listed does not have the files.

From the guide:
![alt text][2]

The KM articles though states this: ***Since TFS 2015, the assembly files are not under the specified location (C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedTeam Foundation Server14.0)***

So it would seem that the path from the install guide does not contain the necessary files. Included in the KM is a zip of the necessary files.

Just put the files from the zip in the path ***C:Program FilesHPHP ALM Synchronizer adaptersnet2015***

Then register the assembly file as per the guide, and restart the synchronizer service.

Let me know if that fixes your error list.

NOTE: The zip is too large to add to this Eye on Testing post. If you do not have access to the HPE article, contact me on here and I can try to provide you the zip.

Thank you! Replaced the dll files with the ones from the zip, and no more issue. One headache gone.
