LDAP Authorization issue in ALM?

Hello,
We came in overnight and our LDAP system is now unable to authorize the users into the system. We changed the authorization type to QualityCenter and restarted the services and this allowed us to get into the system access the settings and re-establish the LDAP communications like we have had to do in the past. However this time when we enter the credentials and information, we are still unable to authorize through and getting a generic error that "authorization can’t be verified, please check with your Administrator". I am the administrator so I am unsure what to do now.

Any suggestions on what we should try?

Thanks,
HomerJ

Hi Homerj,
Since you have changed the authorization back and the current settings aren't working correctly then you need to check with your LDAP administrators to see what has changed on the system. You may have all the same information as they kept it all the same but changed the routing tables and your ALM application server may not have updated its internal tables yet. I suggest you get the LDAP involved and see what has occurred (as server may have restarted, been replaced, cloned, etc) and also with your Networking group as they may need to flush the cache and routing tables within the network to allow the ALM server to update correctly. Since you aren't able to connect you need to test the connection in the siteadmin using the tool and if it fails you can run a ping and tracert from the alm server to ldap server to determine where the issue is occurring.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Thanks the suggestions helped us narrow down the network issue that was holding up the connection and it is resolved now.
