Main menu options disappeared

My QTP 10 main menu item has disappeared. For example when I try to open a test (File > Open) there is no option for Open. All of the sub selections are missing.

There are two fixes for menu issues.

  1. Right click on the open area to the right of main menu option 'Help' and select customize. Click on the Toolbars tab and then the 'Restore all' button.

  2. If above does not work then run a repair on QTP and that will fix it for sure. See answer for posting ''How to repair QTP with out media'' for repair options.

If you go to the Start Page with Quick Test Professional and then follow the following:

Menu Bar go to Tools> General>Restore Layout and this should restore everything back to its normal state (this works with Quick Test Professional 11 as well).
