I am in need to install UFT runtime binaries in a VDI environment. Since this is a VDI environment we need to keep our footprint bare minimum.

I believe what you are looking for is the UFT Run-Time engine. It is a smaller component of the UFT installation that allows from the execution of API and GUI tests without requiring the full installation of UFT. It is packaged with the UFT installation media and can be installed from the main setup.
