Problem connecting to ALM 11 with QTP

When I start QTP I get the following message.

1. OTAClient.dll :
Access is denied.

2. tdclient.dll :
Access is denied.

3. WebClient.dll :
Access is denied.

4. tdclntui.dll :
Access is denied.

5. bp_exec_agent.exe :
Access is denied.

6. OfflineExecutionSetupWrapper.exe :
Access is denied.

7. OfflineExecutionRA.exe :
Access is denied.

Close all connections to HP ALM Server and try again

Anybody know how to fix this issue?

When QTP tries to log into ALM it is also trying to install updates on your machine and is having an issue. For ALM 11 patch 3 or SP 2 and later, to apply ALM updates to QTP you must start QTP with **admin rights** and log into ALM **once**. If you have Windows 7, running QTP as an Administrator and logging into ALM once will work.

I believe that running QTP when signed on as ''Administrator'' is not sufficient. You must right click on QTP and select ''Run As Administrator'' for this to work properly.
