QTP stalling on at random spots in code

I’m having an issue with QTP stalling at different locations through out my script. It will run through multiple lines of code and then stall for up to 5 minutes before moving on to another line. The script is fairly simple and is just a basic recording of a few actions. It stalls at different places each time, however, the past few times it has stalled at the beginning of the script and i have been unable to run past this point. Any ideas why QTP would stall like this?

QTP may have Smart Identification enabled for certain objects, and the usual symptom is a long delay at certain steps. Does it show Smart Identification kicking in at any point in the Test Results? If so, you can see what properties are causing issues and update them in the OR.

It could possibly be that QTP is trying to sync with the web page before moving on. Check to make sure the page has finished completely loading in the bottom status bar of the web browser the next time the problem occurs.

As far as a solution is concerned if this in fact the issue, I do not have one. Possibly speak with a developer, or it could be a network issue.

I hope this helps in any way!

Is your application a web based? If so look to see if you have a hidden frame that is not completely loaded or taking a long time to load. This can be done using the IE Developer tool bar. If you do contact your HP Support for more details on how to fix with custom patch.
