Quality Center fields are changed on Requirements but it does not show in the History and that field cannot be utilized for Sort

If we change a field in a requirement, that is setup in customization to retain History, it does not show the change in the History information page for the Requirement.
That same field cannot be utilized for Sorting either.

Has anyone experianced this before?
Is this a setup issue that has been overlooked?
