Supporting HTML with ALM Excel Add-In

With the 11.5 version of the ALM Excel Add-In we were able to change the configuration to allow support of embedded HTML code in the Excel cells. We could do this by editing the file …AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\Excel\\XLSTART\\TDAddin and adding:
[Parameters]
memo_as_html=true

We have not been able to find a method for enabling embedded HTML with the new add in used with ALM 12.53. It seems like it might be adding a setting to C:\\Program Files\\Hewlett-Packard\\Addins\\HP.ALM.ExcelAddIn.dll.config, but I haven’t seen any documentation as to how to enable HTML.

Now while doing a little research about this I found that there is a bug in Excel add-in 12.53 in where even if you change the parameter, the html tags still will be visible.
Here is the reported issue:

In where it mentions the bug and also it mentions that is under investigation for a future fix.
As a workaround you can use an older version of Excel add-in that seems to not have this problem. For example Excel add-in 12.20 is also compatible with ALM 12.53 so you can try with that version.

So, install the ALM 12.20 Excel Addin and it should work for you.
