Text Check not working in LoadRunner 11.5x with IE 10

At any point in time during the recording of a script, if I highlight text on the webpage and select the ‘Insert text check’ button on the recording bar. It fails with the following error:

Error window title = HookNotifyInApiEventEx

Error window detail = Unsupported for _M_X64

I am using Windows 2008 R2 64 bit OS, IE 10 32 bit version, and LoadRunner 11.52 patch one with the Web HTTP/HTML protocol. This version of VUgen works fine on my local laptop (win7 enterprise 64 bit) and on other machines I have used it with. Any input would be great.

When running IE directly, the shell process will be 64bit, and the content processes will be 32bit. When launched from VuGen, only 1 IE process generated and it's 64bit. The only 32bit IE 10 possible to use is the IE installed on a 32bit machine. For VuGen purposes, only the 64-bit version can be used, and Text Trapping will fail. HP plan to be solved in next release. You can add the text check functionality manually, after the recording,as a workaround.

I do not have IE 10 to check, but on my 2008 server, I have both a program files and program files (x86) directory. Both have internet explorer subdirectories. Running both I see 64 bit edition from the program directory and a 32 bit version from the program files (x86).

You should be able to specify which you start with or worse case, record it as a windows application and browse to the program files (x86)internet explorer and execute the iexplore.exe to get the 32 bit version. The behavior of the 2 should be close enough to get valid scripts and your text checks ''should'' work in that version.

It is worth trying. :)

Good Luck

I am using LoadRunner 12 with IE10 and getting exactly the same error when attempting to 'Insert text check'. Looks like this is not fixed yet?
