We are facing a license issue with some of our virtual machines. We are not able to use the tool even after doing clean uninstall or reinstall with a new version of the tool…still we are having the same issue with the new installation also please do help. UAC and Run as ADMIN are also tested. But those did not work. Also tried:

1. Restart the client machine.
2. Delete "Common" and "License" file from C:\\ProgramData\\Hewlett-Packard\\UFT\\. And then retry to run License Wizard.
3. Repair UFT installation.
4. Uninstall and re-install entire UFT installation.

Error:

License configuration problem

Some of your license configuration files are corrupted. See the logs for more details.

Can you help?

The problem is most likely a corrupt (and/or empty) LicenseSettings.xml file on the affected client machine(s). Here are steps on how to fix as per KM02123386:

1. Ensure no UFT.exe or HP.UFT.LicenseInstallationWizard.exe instances are are running (if they are, end each process via Task Manager in Windows).

2. Review either of the below options (either A or B):

A. Restore (recommended):
-Copy the LicenseSettings.xml file from binLicenseSettings.xml
-Paste file to C:ProgramDataHewlettPackardUFTLicenseLicenseSettings.xml

or

B. Recreate:
-Modify file under C:ProgramDataHewlettPackardUFTLicenseLicenseSettings.xml with data from ''Default Structure'' under Document ID KM01856718 (''What is the LicenseSettings.xml file?'')

Try to open UFT.
