Earlier today we hit our limit of available UFT Licenses. The number of connections in ALM Site Admin versus WlmAdmin on the license server did not match.

QC Site Admin does not show total UFT/QTP licenses in use; rather, the Connections tab shows if a UFT/QTP client is connected to QC. The QC and UFT/QTP licensing mechanisms are entirely different, so all QC Site Admin can show is if another testing tool is making a connection (regardess of what actual licenses are in use). In other words, QC Site Admin cannot and will not show QTP/UFT licenses in use.

WlmAdmin, by contrast, shows QTP/UFT licenses in use (regardless if a QC connection is made). This includes users who open QTP/UFT manually to work in the application, and also if another tool (like QC) opens QTP/UFT for running an automated test.

Ah, ok. Good to know ''connection'' doesn't necessarily mean ''license in use.''
