UFT Runtime Engine execution

We have created a framework for our functional testing, when we try to go ahead and execute it from runtime engine it always opens up the UFT with it. When we got the license our understanding was that we don’t need UFT to just run the scripts it can be done by runtime engine.

Private answer
Did you just install the RunTime Engine during install or did you install everything from the installation screen? You can install only the RunTime Engine from the setup components when you do a Custom Setup. Pleasee see page 21 of the Install Guide that I am uploading to the case for you to see a screenshot of the custom setup. You will see that the RunTime Engine is at the top of the list in the dialog window. You can choose just the RunTime Engine to be installed and not anything else. Marked as spam
