Unable to load QC Client (”Following client components were not downloaded successfully”)

I have a user trying to load the QC Client on their machine, but they’re receiving the following:

Following client components were not downloaded successfully:

1 . ExtensibilityAPI.dll :
[Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified.
Failed to open file for writing

…etc and bunch more like it.

I’ve tried everything I can think of, including cleaning the client components, ensuring the site is trusted, making sure it’s being installed with local admin privileges, etc.

Nothing works. Any ideas?

The QC Client is not supported on Windows XP 64-bit and will not install on this platform. You will need to instead install on a supported platform, such as Windows XP 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit, or Windows 7 64-bit. Please reference this link for a full list of supported client-side environments (for v11.00, scroll down to ''HP ALM 11.00 and HP Quality Center Enterpise 11.00'' > ''Client-Side System Requirements''):

Ok, got it. Was surprised to find out they were using Windows XP 64-bit anyway...who does that?
