Unable to create new field type FLOAT

We have has about a dozen of fields in FLOAT format for the requirements estimates in $. We need to add one additional field to the cost breakdown but we are not able to do that, since the field type will be different. I am afraid that the calculations in workflow will not work correctly. Is there possibly a parameter that can be added via site admin that would allow me to proceed with a new field type FLOAT creation? Can I change the type of the newly created field directly in DB?

Regarding to your question after further researching I found a QCCR about the same you are reporting, after reviewing it I noticed that our development decided not to apply this functionality to ALM 12.xx and higher, they said that the floating point UDF feature was deprecated due to feature immaturity, for your reference check below report.

1. Is there a way to re-enable the float type for UDF fields 2. If there is no way to re-enable then can they go in and manually change the data type in the database to store decimal numbers.
