Any reason why the RDP agent would not be syncing during actual load test?

Hello,

I’ve recently recorded an RDP script using the RDP agent. I used VuGen 11.03 installed on MS Server 2003 32bit and the script RDPs to a Server 2008 R2 64bit server. The accounts used to logon to the 2008 R2 server are all in the administrators group on that server. The issue that I’m seeing is that during VuGen replay, the script executes perfectly, but when I run it in the Controller (v11.03), I receive a "Connection was reset by the server" error. The error is thrown on the rdp_sync_on_agent funtion. It seems to me that the lrrdpagent.exe process is not being started when the script is run by the controller so I added it into the start up folder for all users on the 2008 R2 box, but no luck. Also, I’ve verified that the runtime settings in the Vugen and Controller are the same. Any ideas or has anyone seen a similar issue?

Thanks

EDIT – I believe that I may have found a possible cause for this. We are using Microsoft Forefront on our servers and it’s possible that it could be preventing LrRDPAgent.exe from starting during a load test. Not real sure why the would happen only when run from the Controller and not from VuGen. I will post again if adding LrRPDAgent.exe to the exceptions list in Forefront solves anything.

I received an answer for this from both out support vendor and HP:

When using the RDP protocol with the RDP agent, always insert some type of image sync on the login screen. This will ensure that the script does not try and synch with the RDP agent before you're actually logged in.
