I have not seen anybody use QTP/UFT to make an install on Linux machine. I think you could use Terminal Emulator(TE) Addin for QTP/UFT and create a shell account to do the installs on the linux machine if needed.

I would recommend creating a bash shell script stored on the linux machine to do the install then use QTP/UFT TE addin to launch script.
