I’d like to use browser stack to test a bunch of different browsers without having to install each one. Is this supported by QTP?

No. I've looked into trying to automate against BrowserStack, but QTP only sees the container object and not the browser itself.

Since this is more of a virtual environment or emulator, QTP is not able to 'hook' into the browser like it does with IE, Chrome, or FireFox. That is what the BHOManager.dll is used for in QTP and what you see if you look at the Addons settings for IE. Similar with Firefox in the plugins.

Without this hooking mechanism, you won't have any luck recognizing web objects.

You can try this http://automationsamurai.com
It can run your QTP/UFT tests in BrowserStack cloud.
Thanks

I'll have to check this tool out. It looks like there is a 30 day eval you can download.
