Does importing LDAP users by using the keyword feature work as advertised?

We are currently using ALM-PC 12.01. Has anyone tried importing LDAP users by using the keyword functionality with success? We are in the process of plannying t to import LDAP users into our ALM-PC projects. Any input would be great.
