To Install:
The user must be a ''Local Admin'' or ''Domain Admin''
To Run LoadRunner:
HP recommended that LoadRunner Testers (the real person) be ''local Admin'' or be a member of ''power users'' group to run LoadRunner. Sometimes, due to security restrictions, this is not possible. In that case, the user must have at least the following rights:
1. Full access (read/write permissions) to registry keys under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMercury Interactive
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMercury Interactive
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftJet4.0enginestext
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftTracing
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlWMI
2. Full access (read/write permissions) to the file system to be able to copy files.
If there is any problem either with agent start up or connection from Controller to the agent on a Windows machine with a power user, try the following: (may vary depending on Windows version)
1. Open the Local Security Settings window through
Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy.
2. Select Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignments.
3. Add the user to the ''Create global objects'' policy.
***** Ensure you have these permissions on the controller and ALL the generators**************
ALSO ensure the following (on ALL LoadRunner machine!!!)
A. Windows Firewall = off
B. DEP = off
C. UAC = off (If working on Windows 7 or Windows 2008)
D. IE ESC = disable (Windows 2003/2008 servers)
