Fortunately there exists a way to record the excel 2007 application with Oracle® Hyperion Smart View.

Recording MS Excel is not possible capture add-in information. VuGen doesn't capture it as a part of the business process. Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office (Smart View) provides a common Microsoft Office interface designed specifically for Oracle's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Business Intelligence (BI). Using Smart View, you can view, import, manipulate, distribute and share data in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint interfaces. It is a comprehensive tool for accessing and integrating EPM and BI content from Microsoft Office products.

To record SmarView add-in you need to create a Wireshark .pcap file. First record the MS Excel business process using Web HTML protocol. Then:

1)Install WireShark and record a network trace which is not recording with VuGen (SmartView transactions).

2)Save it as a .pcap file (Wireshark/tcpdump/...libpcap(*.pcap, *cap) option)

3)Check using Command Prompt netstat -noa the server IP where the SmartView add-in is connecting (Foreign Address IP with port 19000 normally).

4)In VuGen create a Mobile App protocol script and then when click ''Record'' select the ''Analyze Traffic'' option. Specify the WireShark trace file and provide the filter data (IP external server address and port will be 19000) to generate a script.

5)Create a Web protocol script against to MS Excel with SmartViewand copy thescript generated on step 4 on it where MS Excel launch SmartView process.
