It seems that the user interface for the HP-Synchronizer will only be found on the server. Is this true?

Some of my team mates have installed Synchronizer and are getting to know it. Surely, this can’t be correct. Shouldn’t we be able to load this client on our local PC’s to manage links? There will probably need to be a subset of users that has access to the HP-sync server to do the Link updates and maintenance tasks.

It is possible to install the HP Synchronizer CLIENT on any (Windows) PC you want. Out of the box, it comes with a super-duper ''god'' HP-Sync USER called ''admin'' (see Admin guide). When logged into HP-sync client as ''admin'', you can go to Tools/User Management and add as many new HP-sync users as you want to be managing links, AND you can associate certain links with certain people. So, you could have all of your Link-admins log in locally to a HP-sync client application as ''admin'' or as some user you have assigned. Most companies just use one ''user'' using HP-sync Client to manage links, ''admin'', but if you have different disciplines or are paranoid (security conscious), you may want to have more than one user for HP-Sync.
