The next thing I would recommend since the system isn't responding correctly is to get your network and LDAP teams involved. I would see if you can ping the LDAP server and get a valid response. You can also run a tracert to see if the connectivity between the LDAP server and the ALM application server. You may need to also flush and update the ipconfig and the DNS cache if something has changed on the system.

This is where I would look into next and see as it sounds like a network issue may be at play here.
