LoadRunner Controller on same machine as our ALM server and UFT license server?

I have a question about our license server for UFT. We consulted in the pass with ORASI if the license server for UFT could be install in the same server that we have installed ALM 11.52, ( the server has Intel ® Xeon ® CPU X5690 @3.47 GHz 3.46 GHz (2 Processors), 8GB, Running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit) We have around 12 UFT users in our team. We moved the License Server and we didn’t have any problems. Now, I got a request from Management to install the license server for Loadrunner on this same server (the one that has ALM 11.52 and UFT License Server) . Should I do that or would I have performance issues for my ALM and UFT users. Please let me know.

No, it is highly discouraged to have Loadrunner running on the same machine as your ALM server. You will definitely need to install on a different machine. There are many shared resource DLLs that would conflict with one another. A Loadrunner controller can sometimes periodically need to be rebooted to load components before each test to establish a clean environmental condition, whereas the ALM server needs to stay running 24x7. Moreover, the LR controller runs a very intensive/busy process that would drag down the performance of the ALM server, even before adding Vusers to the controller.

Thanks for the info. We will set up a separate dedicated machine.
