We use an application – RemitPlus which requires a special code to be added to the .net framework. We have checked with RemitPlus and they are asking as why HP is not ignoring that code in .net.
The error we are getting is

We add the following code to the .net framework on all the desktops that would run this application. The code is added to the machine.cfg file at the location –

C:\\Windows\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v4.0.30319\\Config

It looks like ALM tool is erroring out when it reads the custom code which is added to .net.

We run into a similar issue with another application and here is what HPE's response was...

It is not possible to ignore the added line on the machine.config since ALM uses the whole file to bring up the ALM components so when something is added to the .NET coniguration ALM will not read the new line.

You could try to follow the below steps to see if that can help to clean the error.

1. Clean uninstall ALM https://marketplace.saas.hpe.com/appdelivery/content/alm-client-cleanup-add-in
2. Then open IE with administration Go to ALM-> Tools->HP ALM client registration ->Register HP ALM .
3. Granting full control for user to: C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFramework v4.0.30319CONFIGmachine.config

However, as I mentioned it is not possible to add a code on .NET configuration because ALM will not recognize it.
