Some QC/LAM camps suggest that you should just deactivate unused users not delete them. I suppose this is in case you need them again later? We have been following that practice for some time and our user list has gotten quite long and has many deactivated users. Some of our new admins at a partner ...

1) If I remove a user from ALM, who has been creating test cases, req, defects etc how does ALM handle that? does it error out if I click on their assigned test cases or defects? 2) Instead of removing a user, if I make the user inactive - how does ALM handle that Vs removing?

Is there a way to limit access to a project, so the list can be updated without any testers getting into the project during that time without deactivating the project or doing a lot of tester access changes for this?

We have several hundred users listed in site admin, but only about 75 are actively being used. Many of the others are offshore contractors that are no longer employed by us. I'd like to remove these obsolete users that are no longer in our system, are there any issues with deleting users in QC?
