QC/ALM Excel Add-in export error when switching QC/ALM servers

We have two instances of QC/ALM. One is a test/sandbox instance, and the other is production. When I export data using the HP ALM Excel Add-in to one instance, it works fine. When I try to export to a different QC/ALM instance, I receive an error. Help me!

After Step 7 of the wizard, the following error occurs:

> A general error has occured: ‘Automation error the object invoked has disconnected from its clients.’

When switching instances of QC/ALM using the Excel Add-in, you must always run the Connectivity Add-in (from the Add-ins Page) from the instance that you want to use before running the export. This works as long as each instance is on the same version.

If your separate QC/ALM instances are on different versions, you will need to uninstall the client machine's current Excel Add-in, download and install the Excel Add-in from the instance you want to export to, and run the Connectivity Add-in from that instance.
