Reducing hard drive space on Quality Center server and QuickTest Professional

I am wondering if there is a way to reduce the space taken up by projects in QC. Projects are large, but we are trying to figure out how they take up so much space. I have 145 GB of space taken up on the QC server. I am assuming most of it is log files. Is there a way to clean this up? Are there log files that are not needed? And, can we change settings to reduce the size. Can I do something from QTP to reduce the space?

I am not aware of reducing the size of QC except if you have the Windows for your server and having the OS compress the repository.

For clean up for QuickTest Professional recommend using 'Test Results Deletion Tool' provided with QTP. This will remove old test results from QC and local system. More information about the tool can be found in the HP QuickTest Professional User Guide > Running and Analyzing Tests > Viewing Run Session Results > Deleting Run.

Is there any way we can delete the image files off the file system without deleting the entire results files? Can we ask HP on this? They have instructed me to directly delete results files off the file server before on many occasions when we had this issue.

Currently there is no recommended way to just delete the images from the test results logs because the images are embedded in the logs. However have you thought about changing the capture method from capture images and movies from 'Always' to 'For Errors'? This way QTP will only capture images if you have an error. This option can be set by going to Tools > Options > Run > Screen Capture
